Lydia Prim
Twilo // Salvation // Southern Decadence // Hotlanta // Folsom

Billboard reporting DJ (since Oct'94), Lydia Prim, may be the buzzword on every gay circuit boy's lips these days. But she's certainly no newcomer to the turntables. Born in Mongomery Alabama, she's been playing in the Southern club scene since 1989 when she began her first residency at Pensacola's Office. She quickly earned a loyal Southern fan base between such cities as Birmingham, New Orleans, and Atlanta, playing regional venues like Oz, Backstreet, the Station, and the Bourbon Pub. In May of 1994, Lydia played the main event, Big Top, at Pensacola's Memorial Day Weekend, which began a series of fairly important dance events that included: Chicago's Hearts, Maimi's Amnesia, New Orleans' Decadance, and various Hotlanta parties. However, it wasn't until 1999's Folsom Street Festival in San Francisco that Lydia finally earned high accolades on a national level, for her performance at the closing party.

She has since become one of the most liked and talked about DJs in the country… not merely because she's a female in a male dominated industry. But, because she is an incredible artist with, what seems to be, a direct connection to the dance floor. Lydia's style is definitely all her own; incorporating a soulful blend of tribal beats, progressive trance, and the perfectly timed anthemic vocals….all with a distinctive butch edge. Playing nearly all on vinyl, her mixes are smooth , seamless, and intoxicating…her playful nature and sharp humor always evident in her spinning.

In the summer of 2000, Lydia made her New York debut at the Hampton's most anticipated social benefit of the year, the Empire State Pride Agenda's Tea on July 15th. She has since become the resident DJ for Twilo Tea in NYC. Her appearances have taken her across the continent , including such cities as Dallas, Houston, Vancouver, Toronto, Columbus, Los Angeles, Seattle, Detroit, Atlanta, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Pensacola, and Washington DC. Upcoming major events which Lydia is booked for are: Miami Winter Party Weekend, Philadelphia's Blue Ball, Southern Decadance, Hotlanta, New York Pride, Toronto's prestigious Fashion Cares, Provincetown's 4th of July, and Jeffrey Sanker's Palm Springs White Party. She currently has regular residencies at Salvation in Miami , The Dock in Cincinnati, and Twilo in New York.

In March, 2000 , Lydia joined the ranks of such superstars David Knapp, Manny Lehman, Billy Carroll, Thunderpuss's Barry Harris, and London's underground dance darlings Sunscreem as a member of Madtizzy Productions managed team of musical artists.
